"I would like to take this time to thank Calhoun County residents Charles Parker & Larry T. Montgomery for their outstanding work in launching the “Daddy for a Day" program Friday at New Harvest Christian Center in Anniston. The “Daddy for a Day" program is meant to improve the quality of life for young men ages 3-13 from fatherless homes within our community.

"As a member of the civil and human rights community, I take very seriously the philosophy that better men in our communities create better families and better families create even better generations. Our young people do in fact come from a long line of greatness. No matter what, we should expose that greatness to them in vivid detail in order to allow them to not just see the greatness, but to emulate it --- then become it.

"This is truly great work coming out of the city of Anniston, Alabama. God bless you two in your endeavors. Please continue to make our young men a better people for all. Our world depends on it."
